Double Hung replacement windows can be replaced in one of three ways:
- Sash replacement – only the operable parts of the window are replaced with new tracks and new sashes. Only the interior stop is removed and replaced during the install.
- Pocket window – a fully assembled window fits into your existing frame. Trim is not disturbed. Only the interior stop is removed and replaced during the install.
- Full Tear Out – the entire window frame and all is replaced with a new one. New interior trim is needed usually along with paint touch up on interior walls.

Replacement Windows: Clad Wood
Clad windows are wood windows with a skin of prefinished aluminum over the exterior to eliminate painting.
Loewen Clad Double Hung windows are made from Laminated Douglas Fir and have a thick, extruded aluminum cladding on the exterior of the sash and frame.
- Extruded cladding is painted with Kynar finish to AAMA 2605 with a 20yr warranty
- 72 finishes are available for the exterior

Replacement Windows: Vinyl
Vinyl windows have a sash and frame made from vinyl extrusions that are welded together in the corners. These are usually the most economical of the choices available, but also the most limited in options.
Windsor Vinyl Double Hung and Single Hung Windows
- Limited Lifetime warranty against defects in material or workmanship covers Vinyl Frame AND the glass!
